Not as humorous perhaps, but there are a couple of different things that can happen. When you are conscious you tend to perceive any 'random misfire' as stray thoughts, or even a bit of noise that is in the environment. If you are 'focused' on some activity, you might consider it a distraction. You may see some of the random firings as 'shaking' if you are trying to hold your hand steady.
