Apple is gouging its customers with a smartphone that costs $199? How do you figure? I'm pretty sure that's what the Droid costs. Is that gouging too?

“Too bad Verizon RAPES you for marginally better coverage. I was thinking about getting a Droid until I learned that an unlimited voice/text plan with 5GB of data transfer was going to be $150/mo... and when they enable tethering it will cost another $30/mo... and you have to pay extra for Exchange support... and you're stuck with a 2-year contract an a $350 early termination fee (which they will bill to you if you go over the 5GB limit more than twice for breach of contract).To hell with that.

I dunno, I thought the rat-rod and it's accompanying truck looked pretty badass. The old Caprice in the last pic has some awesome airbrushing, even though the theme is odd. Maybe I'm just giving it nostalgia points though because that was my first car :)!

Nah. Quantum particles of light, photons, didn't start appearing until some time after the initial expansion of "everything". A revolution in (submit hypothetical new term for "revised optics" here) would be required to "see" the initial expansion or its immediate results.

He is increasing the defense budget. He is ratcheting up the war in Afghanistan. He is belligerent towards Iran. He is in favor of the Patriot Act and FISA. He is predator bombing and destabilizing Pakistan. He is pretending to withdraw from Iraq while actually turning over operations to private contractors. Also, last I checked a 35,000 to 50,000 troop strong "residual force" will remain in Iraq even after the "withdrawal" is supposedly complete. He might or might not be closing Gitmo but you can be damn sure he is not discontinuing indefinite detention without trial. You can also be sure secret prisons worse than Gitmo are still in operation around the world.In other words, he has kept the status quo but made several highly publicized symbolic moves to keep people like you appeased. |
