Most psychs I've met (and I've met a lot professionally) are a little loopy. I have nothing against the mental health professions, I think most of them truly do help their patients. But as the saying goes, it takes crazy to know crazy.Â

If you can feel the thump in your chest from one of those things going off 1000 feet over your head, I suspect that damage they could do to something much closer would be significant. Just because it doesn't spray metal shrapnel all over doesn't mean it's not going to cause damage. The shock wave from a moderately powerful explosion can be quite destructive in its own right. Especially if it's any way contained, such as being indoors. These things are far from harmless.
The word bed looks like a bed.

"This is the world we live in!" - Phil Collins.
not nearly the biggest problem... there isnt a current way to build a cable long enough that wont destroy itself with its own weight. Carbon nanotubes have been showing some promise, but we cant make them thin and long enough yet!

Wow a 1984 reference and Dick spouting more nonsense out of his hole. Just another day on the interweb.

The recession is over when the GDP increases for two consecutive quarters. So no, it's not (officially) over. One quarter of a boost is mostly attributed to the failed cash for clunkers debacle (most people traded in old ford trucks for new ford trucks. Not much of a coincidence that Ford posted a huge profit) and the home buyers tax credit. With those things over we'll see if the boost sticks. Ford's stock hasn't really budged because investors don't see Ford as genuinely doing well.Based on numerous real and fake stock portfolios I'm tracking they all consistently bottomed out in about March of this year. So based on stock data I'd say the economy bottomed out in March. However, until real job recovery happens it's not going to feel over. And until the government stops pumping fake money into the economy, people aren't going to trust that real money is being spent.
